Blank (Ob)Verse
by Peter Smith

Good ale and conversation does imbue
A somewhat different view.
Like a dream, nebulous, hard to hold
Of ideas ne’er before to mind
Yet now so obvious to unwind.
So, with pen I reach to draw
Those images fanciful just before.
But have I nowhere to write?
This beermat I turn hast no white.
But what if in years gone by had
Mitchell or Wallis on my dreamy seat
Lost that chance to grasp
An inkling of
Salvation ?
