The Deal Tri Club are organising their annual memorial event / ride / drop-in at Ripple Village Hall on Sunday 6th October on behalf of Daniel Squire.
Daniel Squire was the 18-year-old cyclist who was killed by a van on the A258 road at Ringwould on September 7, 2013.
He lived in St Margaret’s and was cycling to Deal to meet friends from the Deal Tri (triathlon) Club.
He was airlifted to King’s College Hospital, London, but he died the next day.
Daniel was a keen member of the club and was training for the 2014 Iron Man in Bolton.
There are refreshments (tea/coffee/cake etc). All donations go to The Kent Air Ambulance service.
From the Deal Tri website:-
"The Deal Tri Club Annual Sunday Cycle in memory of Daniel Squire."
"This ride is dedicated to a very much missed young man, Daniel Squire. A time to reflect and remember wonderful memories of him, but also a time to think of those from the very close cycling commuinty who have been taken from us doing what they loved too."
"Ripple Village Hall will be open from 9am as before and will remain open until noon. The format of this ride will follow the same as last year, where members who plan to cycle in Daniels memory can stop by at the hall for a cuppa and cake stop and any donations received will once again be donated to the Air Ambulance Kent / Surrey / Sussex air ambulance. This is the chosen charity of the family."
